Every year, The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) coordinates a nation-wide Field Day event for amateur radio teams to get outdoors with radios. Different amateur radio teams across the country do different activities to celebrate Field Day.
The South Salt Lake Amateur Radio Team will be participating in Field Day at Granite library on June 27th from 10 AM - Noon. Come visit and learn the basics of Ham Radio. No experience required. Check out some ham radios and learn about radio technology.
What is a ham radio?
Ham radios are a non-commercial, two-way communication platform for licensed individuals to experiment with radio technology, engage in recreational activities, and provide emergency communication when other systems fail. It's a hobby, a service, and a way to connect with others globally.
What is the SSL Amateur Radio Team?
The South Salt Lake Amateur Radio Team (SSLART) is a group of amateur radio operators in the South Salt Lake area who support the city by providing communications during emergency situations and at public service events. Click here to learn more and get involved.
